Course Description
This course is primarily for therapists working with court mandated or committed adolescents in a correctional setting, residential center, transitional center or probation/parole center.

The course explores all aspects of counseling with this difficult population from:

  • establishing a safe environment
  • replacing antisocial behaviors with prosocial ones
  • responding to the needs of the adolescent
  • to evaluating the effectiveness of the group
  • and more...

The appendices also contains a number of forms that may be copied for the counselor to assist in developing a group, identifying the youth’s offending cycle.
